I belive people tends to joke about their own weaknesses and bad sides because they`re either not willing or able to deal with them any other way. If that`s true in your case (as I think it to be), that description makes sense. Although, I also belive we should all respect and, in some way, care for every humanbeing...including ourselfs! I mean, many people wishes that the world had less violence, even those who have never been in violent situations themselfs. Isn`t that clear sign of caring for other, even stranger, people?
