I do not vote either. It really does not matter. Electoral college first. Then citizen votes if there is a tie. So your vote does not count...until it does (a tie).

What is the electoral college? An electoral college is a set of electors who are selected to elect a candidate to a particular office. Often these represent different organizations or entities, with each organization or entity represented by a particular number of electors or with votes weighted in a particular way. Many times, though, the electors are simply important people whose wisdom would ideally provide a better choice than a larger body. The system can ignore the wishes of a general membership.

Why does Frank remind me of Mr. Bleakman from Clifford the Big Red Dog?

Over here in the Netherlands, if you don't vote, you're not allowed to complain about politics. Everyone who knows you didn't vote will stop you from talking about it.

I believe a blind vote is worse than no vote. and since politics make me angry and confused... I just don't vote.

Besides, never is there a canadate with a realistic way to solve shit and when there is, the dummies on the other party (not saying who!) make it an issue to protect their money.

gimme a flat tax rate, and free candy.

I'll settle for candy.

"-a blind vote is worse than no vote"

If that's the case, why don't you educate yourself? I can't go more than 2 hours without my political podcast. Regardless of the intricacies you must have a preference, the two choices are far too opposed to one another not to fall somewhere on the number line.

There is always a preference, but that does not always validate a public opinion. I suffer from a high level of apathy, especially to the massive volume of political information out there that I would have to divulge to feel I can make an educated guess as to where the future would go with either candidate.

Do I have a good excuse? No, not really. But if I did I probably wouldn't try to argue either.

Understandable, so long it's benign apathy and not a "protest".

It's a shame people don't appreciate having the right to vote...some people would kill to be able to choose who runs their country. It wasn't too long ago that women protested to be able to vote, and women today take that for granted...

Not any kind of insult towards you, just a thought...

People wanted the right to choose. Now they have that right and they know that is false. You can choose a candidate or another, but they are not going to make your life easier or happier...

The only really important choices are those that you make everyday, and that build your life and your destiny...

That's just what I think.

(Sorry for the "bad english", I'm from Chile, we speak Spanish)

I understand that, although I disagree in that some candidates CAN make life better for the country, but it's the principal of the matter.

Not being allowed to vote is basically saying, "You're not good enough to decide who runs your own country, you're too dumb to understand anything."

Which is why it was so important for women to be able to vote in this country - were women not intelligent enough to be able to vote? Were they any less capable than men?

That's just what I think. And your English isn't bad at all.

Right. People is smart enough to deserve the right to vote, but now they are tired enough to reject that right...

Elephant or donkey, it's the same, I wont be happier just "Voting". People's life is made by themselves, by the choices they make when they vote and when they don't vote.

Everybody deserve the right to choose, and choosing to "not choose anything at all" is a good choice too...

I respect what you think. Good thing that this is just a conversation and not a discussion. And thanks, I try to speak English as good as I can.

Can we just, like, get this over with? Stop arguing about it. People can vote or not vote if they want okay! Yes, some people take voting for granted, but it's unlikely that one vote is going to make huge difference and if the people don't really care, it's not really gonna help either side cause it'll probably even out.

"Those who don't vote, shouldn't complain."

Also, look at the third party candidates. If enough people vote third party, we can finally knock out this 2 party system.
