Read the next comic strip

To be honest I don't really get what the big deal to spend time with your family during the holidays is. But I gotta admit, sometimes I feel guilty for not spending that time with my family.

The Twogag Facebook page couldn't care less if you spent the holidays on it or not, as long as your gifts are decent enough.

I love the hollidays. It's when mom and dad get together with grandpa and grandma, and realize why it sucks to be a son.

I grew up in a large family so family holidays are important to me. Not to mention our family has always been extremely tight knit. Grew up with huge holiday parties and wouldn't want it any other way. C: But then again I don't have a problematic family so that helps haha

I only get with my family- and step-family, of which there is many- over Christmas for the presents and free food. In all other ways it's a one-stop train to Awkward City- and not a slow, British Railways one. I mean one of those super-fast Japanese jobbies that run on magnets (how DO they work?). It doesn't help that a) I'm autistic, b) I enjoy gallows humour and dead baby comedy at all occasions while most of my family are easily offended and c) they're all very Christian and I'm (if anything) Ásatrú. But hey, at least they have underfloor heating! XD

Holiday get-togethers usually it become more important as people start to drift apart and become more focussed on their own affairs... It gives family members time to reconnect with each other face-to-face and share experiences, something that becomes increasingly difficult as one grows up, moves out, and begin to focus on college and/or work instead. And since holidays are one of the few times of the year when people can get away from their jobs, the timing is pratical.

... Of course, I suppose the importance of spending time with your family depends largely on how good your relationship with them is, but that's more of a case-by-case thing. ^^;;

it's a rule in my house that during holidays we all stay together and such...so basicly if i make a run for my room my mom yells at me to get back here

:iconhisansa:

Ah. That answers that. I'm lucky I guess. I'm allowed to leave if I want. My only decent cousin comes up to my room with me, cause she loves video games as much as I do, so it works out that I 'spend time with family' and get to do what I want.

"Why do we have to visit these people I don't know/sit here for hours being bored/go for a two-hour walk on Christmas Day?"

I suggest a decent multiplayer such as halo or smash bros. that way only the cool relatives will bother you, and you can enjoy beating the hell out of somebody without lifting a finger

OR or, this may sound really far fetched, but try not drawing around your family so they can mess up your sketchbook? :iconredformanplz:

There is that answer too, but if he really wants to draw, then the best bet is to just go somewhere where they won't follow.
